  • It's ironic that on a planet that is 70 percent water, people don't have enough clean, safe water to drink”
  • But the freshwater on Earth makes up just three percent of the water supply. And less than one percent is freely available; the rest is tied up in ice, as in icebergs, glaciers, and snowcaps.”
  •  “This means that all of the rivers, streams, lakes, aquifers and groundwater expected to sustain the 6,602,224,175 people on Earth make up less than one percent of the total water on the planet”
  • We are currently in a “Water Crisis”

INTRODUCTION PARAGRAPH:
  • Opening lead sentence to get audience’s attention
  • Who/what is the source & why is it reliable
  • What is the thesis/argument you will prove in this blog post? (bold these 1-2 sentences in your blog post)

3% is scary when we talk about how much of something that we have, some people have panic attacks when their phone have 3% on their Iphone 7 plus and they don’t have a charger. Imagine if they only 3% of a water bottle left and could never use a water fountain or buy another bottle, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.  The World currently only has 3% of drinking water and we are going through it at a rapid pace and we need to cut back on it or we are gonna eventually run out of it.

2-3 SMALL BODY PARAGRAPHS (Organizes and analyzes evidence from the source about author’s argument). See ideas for organizing your blog post here.
For Earth as a planet, running out of water has some serious consequences. Already we can see them in examples such as California's Imperial Valley, where rapid groundwater depletion has caused the ground to cave in by 100 feet in the past 100 years. Environmental scientists predict that as well as sinking terrain over extraction of groundwater could also lead to an increased risk of earthquakes due to the fact that the Earth’s crust is becoming lighter. The overly buoyant crust will then start to rise which will release pressure on fault lines, thus triggering the tectonic plate movements that cause earthquakes.

For global citizens the effects of worldwide water depletion will be catastrophic. In 1995, World Bank Vice President Ismail Serageldin predicted that "The wars of the next century will be fought over water" and he was not wrong. Yes, the world has plenty to fight about at the moment but at the end of the day oil, gas, religion, politics and other subjects don’t mean the difference between life and death. Water on the other hand, does. Should the world run out of H20 the scramble to secure access to fresh, clean drinking water will be ruthless. Conflict is already starting to emerge in the USA where 35 states are fighting over water supplies.
